At Hope Community Charter School, families are partners in the education of their children. Staff in our literacy-focused school strives to welcome families, know them well, and engage them actively in the life of the school. Regular communication and multiple opportunities for participation allow families to be strong partners each day in their child’s learning.
We provide opportunities for parents to connect with the school during all hours of the day and early evening. The Executive Director and staff work to create an environment where families feel welcome, valued, and useful through various forms of communication, family events, and collaborations.
FAMILY LITERACY PROGRAM
At Hope Community Charter School, sharing a love of literacy is incorporated into regular school activities as well as Family Literacy events. Each marking period, Hope Community Charter School sponsors a Family Literacy event during which families participate in fun literacy-based activities. The program helps teach families about the importance of reading to their children, how they might support and extend their child’s reading and cultivates a love of reading in the home. Each year, students celebrate their love of reading and their literacy success during “Read Across America” week, a program honoring Dr. Seuss’s birthday. Students and families participate in literacy-based activities where students celebrate and showcase their literacy successes.
